Event details

Carry On is a Detroit based tribute band covering the music of harmony based supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Carry On was formed in early 2016 by guitarist/singers Ken McCauley, Bob Monteleone and Matt Hamann and quickly became one of the Midwest’s top tribute bands. Ken and Bob had played together as an acoustic duo for 15 years before meeting Matt whose idea was to join forces and form the group. They enlisted top Metro Detroit musicians Myles Rutledge (drums), Jorian Olk-Szost (bass) and Matt LaPinta (keyboards) to help recreate the sound of CSNY’s magical recordings.

Carry On not only covers all of CSNY’s hits like “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes”, “Teach Your Children” and “Just a Song Before I Go” but play music from the supergroup’s previous ‘60s bands Buffalo Springfield (Stephen Stills and Neil Young), the Byrds (David Crosby) and the Hollies (Graham Nash) as well as notable songs from CSNY’s solo careers. Unlike many tribute bands who dress and play the characters of the artists they emulate, Carry On focus on the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young with four different singers taking turns on the lead vocals. Carry On works hard to attain the dense vocal sound of CSNY and features the intense lead guitar interplay of Hamann and Monteleone.

An evening with Carry On is more than a trip down “memory lane” but a rich musical experience in honor of the wonderful music of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
